  My son and nephew were living in Detroit for the summer doing some Christian service and this is the parish they chose to go to because it is run by the Capuchin's who also have the two soup kitchen's in the city. One weekend when they were home they invited us to go to St. Charles. The Pastor is a wonderful priest and the all of the church members were very friendly. I too shook hands with the vast majority of them at the sign of peace.
  
  They also have a full Gospel Choir, so as a Catholic who is not familiar with that, the Mass felt like a hybrid between a Baptist church service and a Catholic Mass, but I am quite sure that God was pleased with the charity and sincerity shown by the entire parish.

  Catholic Mass with a full Gospel choir & band. I shook hands with every person in the Church when the admonition to offer a sign of peace to each other came after the Lord's prayer. Parishioners all came to me! An experience I will never forget.
